What does it mean to be saved?

                    This commonly asked question deserves a well thought out answer from the scriptures. The fact is much of our peace of mind as Christians rests upon a clear understanding of this subject. But ironically, as important as this topic is, most people are more concerned with retirement and their financial future than their relationship with Christ and their eternal future. "Believe in the Lord and thou shalt be saved", is a beautiful text (Acts 16:21) but what does it mean to BELIEVE? "The devils also BELIEVE and tremble" (James 2:19). Are they saved? Over one hundred verses on "being saved" are found in the Bible, but only a few are used to draw conclusions. As Christians we deserve a thorough scriptural understanding of this most important subject.
