THE
GLORIOUS PROCLAMATION
LUKE 2:1-20 "For
unto you is born this day in the City of David
a Savior, who is Christ the Lord."--Verse 11
THE
Message of the angels to the shepherds on the plains of Bethlehem
becomes more and more precious to each child of God in proportion
as he grows in grace and knowledge. As his ears and eyes of
understanding open more widely to the lengths and breadths
of God's great Plan of the Ages, that prophetic Message is
the more highly esteemed as an epitome of the entire Gospel.
Nor can our attention be called too frequently to the great
event which lies at the foundation of that Message--the Savior's
birth.

Significance of Jesus' Birth
For
four thousand years and more the promises of God, clothed
in more or less of obscurity, had been given to mankind, intimating
that ultimately the great curse of sin and death, which had
come upon the world through father Adam’s disobedience,
would be rolled away, and instead of a curse would come a
blessing with life-giving refreshment. And then, by a miracle,
came the voice of the angels when they broke forth in a heavenly
strain, singing, "Glory to God in the highest, and on
earth peace, good will toward men." Luke 2:14 |

God's
Kingdom is the Desire of ALL Nations
THE
most momentous event of earth's history is the establishment
of God's Kingdom among men, in the hands of our Lord Jesus
and his Church. This great event, toward which all of God's
promises and types point, we now see to be not only at hand,
but just upon us. No desire has been more eagerly expressed;
no wish has been more sincerely wished; no need has been more
earnestly felt than for a kingdom of peace, joy, and happiness
to replace present conditions on planet earth. |
